What is a Powder Brow?
Powder brow is a cosmetic semi permanent makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with a soft powder effect, very similar to powder makeup. Powder effect is done with a shading technique using a permanent makeup device, which is similar to a tattoo gun.
How do I prepare for any semi- permanent procedure? ( powder brow, lip blush, microblading)
If you ever had herpes (cold sores) you do carry the virus for life. A few days before the procedure (7 days), you should start taking a prescribed antiviral treatment to prevent the herpes outbreak ( this is for lips).
For about two days before the procedure, you should not drink any alcohol, take aspirin ( both thin the blood) and not take ibuprofen tablets or antibiotics ( slows down the healing process). Cigarette smoking can also slow down the healing process.
You should avoid tanning before and after the treatment until the lips/ brows are healed.
The procedure is performed with the help of topical anaesthetic cream.
For the first few days after the procedure the colour will be more intense and darker, and it can also look red. ( lips or brows)
Never plan your semi-permanent makeup procedure close to a big event or a holiday, it takes a few days before they start to look good and perfect.
You should plan your touch up visit 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment.
*For your comfort do not drink coffee or high caffeine before your appointment, so your eyes and body can relax.
